In-person and remote training and employment opportunities will be provided to successful graduates centered, at least initially, on youth in Toronto and Roseau, the national capital of Dominica.
Recognizing that successful, sustainable software delivery and innovation relies on more than technical skills, the program will provide clients with training and mentorship in Entrepreneurship & Business Development, Software Development, Solution Architecture, Business Analysis, Project Management and Product Development.
The program will be designed to prepare students to obtain internationally recognized certifications and to reach a job-ready level of proficiency as quickly as possible. While those with some computer science education or a programming background will be prioritized for participation in the program, there will be no hard prerequisites for acceptance into the program. Rather, students will be evaluated based on their aptitude and likelihood to succeed which will, in part, be ascertained via pre-admission basic skills training, testing and team challenges. This program will be conducted in partnership with the Dominica State College with support from the Open Campus of the University of West Indies, the region’s premier internationally recognized university.
